Welcome to our website!
or
the last 30 years the Cardiosurgical
Students' Scientific Group (CSSG)
of the Jagiellonian University's Medical College has encouraged
medical students to participate in the process of solving heart's
biggest mysteries - mysteries that are so unique that they can only
be discovered in the brilliant light of the operating theatre.
e
are offering you not only the possibility to improve your
theoretical knowledge with enthralling lectures and discussions
including films, photos, props and medical cases, but also to
acquire practical skills such suturing and anatomical dissection of
heart's structures and vessels. Scientific projects await the most
ambitious with a helping hand of our marvellous Tutor,
Roman Pfitzner Ph. D.
Those striving for more cardiosurgical adventures can also
participate in additional events prepared by our host,
The
Transplantology, Heart & Vessel Surgery Clinic of the John Paul IInd's
Hospital in Krakow, such as cardiosurgical workshops and
various conferences.

The
Workshops chapter is dedicated
to the Students' Cardiosurgical Workshops where every student can
take a lancet and perform an operation on porcine heart or suture an
aorta with our Tutor's guidance. You will also find there a
description of the Students' Cardiosurgical Holidays - called
"The Heart in the Mountains" - where we mix mini-discussions
about cardiosurgery with the joy of traveling through the
wilderness.
